All Aboard!
As summer has been ramping up, I have been working hard at St. Croix Festival Theatre in beautiful St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. The first show of this powerhouse season is Men on Boats, a (somewhat) historical comedy by Jacklyn Backhaus which explores the Powell Geographic Expedition of 1869 - the first government-sanctioned expedition through the Grand Canyon. The catch? This political satire is performed entirely by women. I have been having a blast digging into this wonderfully comedic material through the lens of my character Andrew Hall, resident map-maker aboard The Maid of the Canyon, affectionately dubbed the “PARTY BOOOAT.” More season updates coming soon!
